NSV's and Protein Highs

I got up this morning and had my iced coffee with my best buddy. Furry Lewis loves the love, and if I'm not paying proper attention to him he puts his paw on my arm like this. I just can't stand how cute he is.

I switched breakfast up a little bit today. I still made scrambled eggs with cottage cheese, but I added the cottage cheese to the egg before I scrambled it. If you do this, keep in mind that it will take longer to cook this way. Cottage cheese has a high water content, but once the water cooks out, you're left with delicious creamy scrambled eggs that taste pretty cheesy. I put it all in a pita pocket with some Cholula. You know I never miss an opportunity to use some hot sauce.

This breakfast was super filling. Even with my lack of a fill, it held me for a long time. I actually had to let it digest a bit before I went to the gym. I tackled workout #3 of 4 planned for the week. And I had a great one today. For me, working out consistently is a non-scale victory in and of itself. Three months ago I could not have walked for 20 minutes, much less fast for 35 minutes like I did today. And I know I've said it before, but never underestimate the power of a good playlist. I was getting pretty tired today when this song came on. It's an oldie but a goodie and it never fails to make me move my legs just a bit faster.

For lunch today, I had some Chick-fil-A nuggets with buffalo sauce and a small diet lemonade.

Tonight for dinner I baked some tilapia with a little bit of saz√≥n and green beans seasoned with Cavender's. I don't know if they sell Cavender's Greek seasoning nationwide, but if you can find it, pick it up. I've never found anything that makes green beans taste better. It almost makes them taste like they are cooked with bacon. We love to cook all kinds of greens with bacon or pork in this part of the country, but it's a bunch of trouble and not so healthy.

For my after dinner snack, I had my last Yasso Greek Yogurt bar. I need to go to the store and get some more of these. I enjoyed them so much.
I noticed that I hit an all time protein high today. I'm liking these stats. Here they are:

  1. I have never seen that frozen greek yogurt...I think I will have to try that :)

    1. My Kroger only has the raspberry and the coconut, but there are apparently a lot of other flavors too. Let me know what you think!
